Ed Schmidt Pontiac GMC located in Perrysburg Ohio is helping exceed customer expectations in the service department as they announce they have a new GM World Class Technician, Eric McClellan. GM Goodwrench service technicians across the nation complete extensive GM training to earn the status of Mr. Goodwrench, “the one and only GM expert.” Some GM technicians, like Eric McClellan, take additional training to reach an even higher level of expertise – a GM World Class Technician. Of the 72,000 service technicians nationally, Eric McClellan is one of 1218 World Class Technicians. “It takes a lot of commitment and hard work to earn the World Class distinction,: says Jim Cavanaugh, Ed Schmidt Service Manager. “Eric has completed 475 hours of training and has earned Master Technician and ASE Certification in various vehicle specialty areas along the way.” A GM service technician can earn World Class status in the mechanical and/ or body areas. “Once achieved, the technician positions themselves as one of the most knowledgeable in their field and serves as a role model for all GM Goodwrench Technicians,” says Tim Murray, Director, GM Dealer Service Support.
